Learner Guide Trip to Mururu 2021
What a wonderful opportunity it turned out to be with volunteer lecturers with years of experience teaching our pupils a variety of topics such as – guided walks, firearms and shooting practice, bush-craft making string and fire, scorpions, bones and skulls, trophies and skins, tree identification and wild flowers, tracking, bird identification, spiders and butterflies, National Parks laws and first aid, backpacks and safety briefings, vehicle maintenance and fixing punctures – the list goes on.
The more advanced learners, hoping to do their proficiency later in the year, spent hours tracking buffalo in thick bush under the tuition of experienced hunters and shared their experiences with us.
It was a great opportunity to talk to professionals in the industry and get an insight into the tourism and hospitality side of guiding as well as knowledge of all the flora and fauna.
Our thanks to the organisers and the lecturers who gave freely of their time to help our learners on their journey to being excellent safari guides.
