Staff Profile - Francois De Kock 2019

Francois de Kock was appointed Deputy Head of Peterhouse Boys in January 2019.

Francois has been teaching science and biology and coaching rugby and cricket at Peterhouse Boys since January 2012; he was Housemaster of Snell from January 2016 to December 2018.

He is a Pretoria Teachers’ College Graduate (1989-1992) and has just achieved his Honours in Educational Law and Management from the University of Pretoria. Francois moved to Zimbabwe in 1995 on taking up a position as a Grade 5 teacher and Head of Sports at Kyle Preparatory School in Masvingo – he boosted the rugby of this small rural school significantly making Kyle a force to be reckoned with even by Springvale and Ruzawi standards! From 1998 – 2011 Francois was in family farming business which gave him the opportunity to indulge himself in his passion for cattle, fishing and the outdoor life in general.

Francois will be coaching the U/14A rugby team this season and in his spare time he continues to enjoy fishing and creating beautiful gardens and “green” areas around the school. He is married to Janeen (English Department PHB and i/c the Megahey Centre) and has two children: Reuben (15) and Meagan (13).
