Obituary - Connie Zaayman

Teacher extraordinaire, colourful character, and an icon in terms of her teaching at Peterhouse, it is with much sadness that we pay tribute and farewell to Connie Zaayman, who passed away in Marondera on Monday 11 April.

University of Cape Town and UNISA graduate, Connie began her teaching career at Chisipite where she headed up the English Department for a number of years. In 1994 she moved to Peterhouse where she quickly established herself as an incredibly creative and resourceful teacher. Thus began an almost three decade association with the school. Connie consistently had excellent results throughout her years at Peterhouse.

Generations of Petreans will have had the privilege of being in Connie's English classes. She certainly made her mark on the school and leaves an incredible teaching legacy.

We pay tribute to her considerable contribution to Peterhouse and, as a community, extend our deepest condolences to Jason, Louise and the whole family.

May she rest in peace.
